Summer or Rainy Day, Indoor Fun !

I have had a sweet time watching my sister’s babies as she recovered from a follow up surgery from her radical bilateral mastectomy. You can read my sister’s story here. She is doing well, and her babies just went back to their home.

My heart hurts.

We had a blast with her babies, but I did take a break from blogging as our life adjusted around the care of a 2 and 4 year old.

I thought I would share an indoor fun idea that I had to scramble and come up with. We were hit with the third solid and rainy day in a row. Our road was washed out, which kept us from being able to get outand the kids were getting on each others nerves.

With limited toys, I had to get creative.

Want a cheap idea to keep kids entertained? It takes less than a dollar of electrical tape.

My nephew helped me place the tape down, and it took less than five minutes. I worried about clean up when I saw a few sticky spots, but the sticky was very minimal and only in two spots.

We created a rather large neighborhood with just tape and a few toys that I had on hand.

They were both going a little stir crazy and beginning to “pick” on each other, so separate neighborhoods were a must.

They loved it, and you could have so much fun with this idea.

What about highways to different play stations?

A reading nook leading to a tent made from a sheet, to a building block center?

The possibilities are endless.

We timed each station. So after ten minutes they were allowed to switch.

All in all…..

SUCCESS and easy and cheap!

So, have your kids been getting bored?

Could you see yourself using this idea?

I would love to know.

I have missed talking to you, but I am so thankful to have been able to spend this time with my sister’s babies.

Talk to me people!

Here is a 49 second video if you would like to see the actual “peace and quiet” this indoor fun project will bring to your home.

Love,

Me

This looks like so much fun for the little ones.. I also live in Myrtle and my we have had our share of rain – our little one would love doing this… such a great idea…

Try using drafting tape instead of electrical tape. It won’t leave sticky residue and lifts up easily. It’s more expensive, but you won’t ruin anything with it.
