The “Organizing Your Closet” series has actually been very hard for me to post.
I canNOT stand seeing the “ugly” photos on my blog. Isn’t that crazy? It is embarrassing and when I go to my home page and see them…..I want to hit “delete”.
But….facing the truth can sometimes be embarrassing. I want to hit the “delete” button for real in my closet and not just on my computer. So…..I am almost ready!
Part one of our series talked about looking at the room or space you need to purge and asking, “Why is there an issue in this space?”
Part two was a post where I am looking at my closet just like I would a space for a client. I am finally applying my techniques that have worked with others to my own space with an issue. I told you some of my most important “pre-purging” rules.
Part three was just to not keep it to wordy in party two…..a little more pre-purging advice.
Don’t ignore any issue in the space you are wanting to purge.
For example: Don’t say….”I will get to that part later”.
Nope…...Deal with the issue as a whole.
This is why pre-purging is sometimes necessary. It is an objective look at what you have as a whole. It will give you time to address every issue in your space and help you create a “plan” on how to change your space.
One more ugly photo for my home page!!!! Eeek! Please comment and support me people. This is really hard!
Hit every issue in your closet or space. Sure, I have an organizer but it is apparently not working? Or is it me? Too many shoes? Wrong system? It needs to be addressed!
AND IT HAS TO BE FREE!
Before you purge, if your shoes are not separated or organized, especially if you have a lot of shoes……they may stay messy and unorganized. Hit the shoes. Separate flats, athletic, sandals, heels etc.
Boots in a tub are not working! I need to find a FREE and working solution!
Do the same thing with folded clothes. I am not going to bore you to death with that plus I’m not showing my under garments. It is bad enough already!
So…still with me?
Ready to pre-purge and purge?
I purge this weekend and canNOT wait to dig in!
Purge when you have time to take your items to thrift, consignment or charity.
Otherwise you are moving your mess around.
Only purge when you know you can get rid of the items!!!! This is another common mistake I have seen. Many times I go into a home or business and much of the mess or clutter was moved from one space to another, with the good intention of removing it, BUT it hardly ever happens.
Purging is a process. Next step?
Finding un-used and wasted space! I can’t believe what I have been missing!
I will be posting some fun Valentine’s Day projects before the next step in the “Organizing your closet” series.
So, stick around…….
Plus, I may want to see some pretty projects on my home page to soften the blow of my public revealing of my messy closet.
Don’t be hating on me.
