Monogrammed cake plates are all the rage.
At least in MY head they are.
And yesterday, when I did my Christmas Cake plates with Dollar Tree rub-off stencils…well, I started “fiddling”.
Cake plates are like little “white boards”.
What goes on….easily comes off.
And if you are in a “fiddling” kind of mood….
And say you needed cake plates for a baby shower or a birthday party…..
Well, take a sharpie and a stencil and add contact paper…..
I am doing this to protect the art work. The stencil comes off with soap and water but I want it to last for a little bit. The contact paper is an easy solution!
Leave it a little big at first…..
Trim it up “neat and tidy”.
And there you have it.
Think of the possibilities.
YouAreTalkingTooMuch.com, MONOGRAMMED-CAKE-PLATE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!!!
Ok, just so you know.
I am bad about using my cake plates.
But things are going to change around here people.
No holiday celebration or birthday party or you name it, will be safe……these cake plates are going to be my “ticket”.
My ticket, I tell ya’.
That is….if I can get all of the sharpie off of them first.
Then, I will have to get the sharpie residue from the outside of my white porcelain sink.
But after that….. then, they will be my ticket.
What do you think?
Would you use this idea?
What about doing this with the Dollar Tree white plates?
You could do the same thing with them!
Have some of your own ideas rolling around in your head?
Are we going to be famous together?
I can’t wait to find out.
PS. The sharpie came off perfectly but there were some scratches on my cake plates that it wanted to discolor. I sprayed a little Clorox clean up and all was fine with the world but make sure you are aren’t doing this on special pieces. I would feel awful if I was all famous and in magazines and stuff with this unbelievable idea and you were destroying your grandma’s cake plate. Kk?
