I had many sweet comments on my boots that I wore for the Southern Bloggers Conference….thank ya’ very much!
Some of you even guessed they were Frye boots without even asking. (Kelly @Eclectically Vintage) ; )
Frye boots are super-duper expensive in stores and if you stick around here long enough, you know that I love to find quality for cheap! Because I’m cheap.
And I can’t afford the super-duper-expensive ones.
So, I went looking for inexpensive Frye boots.
And I found them……
Lest you think $18.00 is not a good deal…..here is what new Frye boots sell for right now.
$388.00 Macy’s online.
Are they different in style?
Yes, I just picked this pair to give you an idea. Don’t be picky people. ; )
When I wore them to the conference they had a spot on them.
The spot really, really made me laugh.
Ok, it didn’t. I just thought I would show you my Twitter profile pic. Are you following me on Twitter? You need to be.
No one really noticed the spot.
Except that I kept telling everyone that said they liked my boots that they had a spot on them.
So then they would notice the spot.
Why do I do that?
I got the spot on my boots right before the conference and my husband took them to our shoe shop, that is wonderful, to get them cleaned and polished.
The spot stayed.
I wore the boots anyways.
And I laughed.
While I was there I mentioned for the thousandth time to Mom4Real that my boots had a spot on them.
I’m sure she loved hearing that over and over.
Then I said.. “When I get home, I am going to try getting this off!”
And she said, “I’m sure there is a post in that.” (praying I would now I would stop talking about it. I didn’t.)
But guess what?
There was a post in it and I did get the spot off and all it took?
Soap and a damp rag.
Now….big ole’ disclaimer. I’m not a leather expert. You could ruin your leather. Etc. Etc. Etc.
I just know that I took it to our shoe shop that has been open for over 100 years and they couldn’t get the spot off but I used anti bacterial soap and a damp rag and wah lah…..
So then I tried it on my leather bag that I spattered sweet tea all over and has been sitting in my closet.
That is after wiping it with a wet rag by the way.
On my boots and my bag I didn’t just wipe the spotted area. I heavily wiped the spotted area but then fanned out the wiping….thinking it would leave less chance of making another spot.
Both spots came off.
I’m a genius!
Because I do not want this to be the longest post in history I will share tomorrow where to find your own Frye boots for a steal of a deal and how to polish them with something right out of your bathroom!
Aren’t you so excited?
Think you will sleep tonight?
Like the boots at all?
